Product Details

  • Make a safe and temporary repair on the road. Allows isolation of a fault in the tractor or cable.
  • Emergency by-pass feature on the 7 round pin tester jumps power from power feed to broken circuit on trailer side.
  • Second set of LEDs works only on negative ground trucks.
  • Testing Circuits: Plug the 7 round pin tester into the end of the cable nearest the trailer. Bring
    cable into cab and run through each circuit of the lighting system. If one or more of the LED do not come on as its circuit is being checked, that circuit is faulty. To determine where the fault is located, unplug the 7 round pin and move it to the 7 pin connector on the tractor, recheck each circuit. If all LEDs light up, the problem is in the cable. If one or more of the LED's remain unlit during the test, the problem is in the tractor. Test the trailer by checking the rear of the trailer. When using the indicator marking to identify the faulty circuit, the 7 round pin must be plugged into the seven pin connector on the trailer for proper orientation.
  • By-passing a fault: Plug the unit into the cable end and identify the faulty circuit. Unplug the unit and unscrew the pin on the line next to the unlit LED. Install the flat brass jumper cable over the center pin and bend the tail down into the hole left by the removed pin. Plug the cable with the 7 round pin tester attached into the trailer and proceed.
